Jacque JJ Music

Culture for a Cause co-founder and Recording Artist Jacque Williams returns to the music scene with two new EPs with a message. Compelled by the current politically charged environment in our nation and the belief that “art” is a way to bring people and ideas together, Jacque began writing again after a long absence from performing and songwriting. The present national unrest brought his ideas to light, and he was determined to bring local artists together for this cause.

Endorsements from the Arts Community

We are living through a paradigm shift as the social inequities in our country are laid bare through the dual plagues of racism and Covid. These are complex and difficult issues that must be addressed and confronted head on. I believe art is a necessary space to allow these conversations to happen in a creative, community centered environment. Art allows us to bring communities together, build empathy, unpack collective traumas and historical injustices, and amplify marginalized voices that deserve to be centered and heard. It is my hope that we continue to seek and produce art that challenges us to rethink and reconsider our world view, as it is work that is constant and ongoing.

Executive Director Warner Theatre
I endorse this project that emphasizes the importance of the arts in our community to promote equity and understanding, in addition to the economic impact the arts bring. The COVID-19 Pandemic has demonstrated to me personally how important the arts are to my social well being.

This song is an excellent example of the power of music to uplift and connect community in difficult times.  Creative expression is an important part of mental health and building the cultural identity of a community, and this song is a wonderful representation of our community here in Torrington.

Executive Director Northwest Connecticute Arts Council artsnwct.org
The arts help us to understand our world and one another. The solace, unity, healing and pleasure of the arts strengthen our ability to navigate everyday life even as they provide economic stability and cultural enrichment. Seldom in history has the impact of the arts been more important than in today's troubled times.
